Last Weekend in Seattle

This last Saturday, Maury and I went into Seattle and Bellevue for our last time before our move home.  It was bitter sweet for both of us because we really do love both cities.  We spent the day shopping and walking around some of our favorite stores.  We had fun reminiscing about each person that came to visit us this year and where we took them and things we did.  It's weird to think this year has already passed and we won't be able to just jump in the car and drive into Seattle next week.  We are both sure we will come back someday to visit but that could be years from now.  It's such a beautiful place and I think many times we took for granted where we have lived.

It was the perfect day! I know I speak for both of us when I say, we couldn't be more grateful for this beautiful place we lived our first year of marriage!

Until next time,

Brie :)

Thanksgiving

I am a little bit behind on updating our blog but things have been pretty busy around here lately.  So going back a couple of weeks, Maury and I got to drive home for Thanksgiving.  It was really great to be home with all of our family and friends, but a little bit of a tease for us having to say "We will be back in two weeks!"  We just wanted to stay there! Of course I didn't take many pictures because I was so busy catching up and eating amazing food, but here they are :)

35 Days!

I can't believe it is already November 1st! This year is absolutely flying by, but I couldn't be more excited to see Christmas in the near future.  The most exciting part about it being November 1st is Maury and I have exactly 5 weeks or 35 days left in Washington!!! Holy moly, where has the time gone?! Here are some things I am excited for in the next 2 months.

Christmas Cups from Starbucks

Seeing the lights

Annual Ginger bread house with the family

Hanging out with these ladies

Spending time with this lovely family

Seeing all of our cousins

Celebrating our first year of marriage!!

Until next time,

Pumpkin Patch

I love fall but I really hate don't like Halloween.  Don't get me wrong, the candy is great, but I really hate the idea of dressing up.  Mostly because these days Halloween, for most girls, is an excuse to go into public looking extra scandalous.  That just doesn't sound fun to me! Besides the candy, I do love going to a Pumpkin Patch, the cooler weather, Pumpkin Spice candles, the decorations and carving pumpkins! Earlier this week, Maury and I went to a huge pumpkin patch by our house and got ourselves a pumpkin!

Love him :)

Carved Pumpkins

I really love how these look so I got a little one for our house :)

So many to choose from!!

It was such a pretty day

Maury said we could get any pumpkin he could carry out
and this is what he picked! Haha funny guy!

The Christmas Tree's are growing!!

They had a pumpkin and corn cannon

Us with the pumpkin we chose!

Once we got home, we decided to be creative and make our own design and it worked out horribly.  We both ended up giving and just coming inside! Oh well, last year our pumpkins looked good!

Okay, maybe good isn't the right word!

Until next time,

Brie :)

The Best Surprise

I have to admit, I was a little down about my birthday this year. I knew it was going to be a Monday, so Maury would have to work, which meant I would end up spending much of the day alone.  Little did I know, my sweet husband, my mom and my grandma had been planning a surprise for me since the beginning of September! Boy, did I feel silly and like a brat after all of the whining and complaining my poor husband had to hear for the weeks leading up to my birthday!

Sunday morning Maury woke up bright and early to go to work for a 24 hour shift, except that was a lie, he really went to the airport to pick up my mom and grandma! He told me before he left we could meet for lunch around 11am so to be ready to go! I got all ready to leave the apartment and drive to a restaurant we had picked.  As I was picking up my purse to walk out the door, the lock started to turn like someone was unlocking the door and my heart started beating SO fast.  I was terrified someone was coming in to get me!! (Dramatic, I know, but it's an irrational fear of mine!) There was Maury is regular clothes (he left in his uniform so I wouldn't catch onto his secret) and right behind him, my mom and grandma came running into the apartment yelling Surprise and Happy Birthday!! I was so shocked that they pulled this off! I was shaking, because I was excited and because of the fear of someone coming into the house.  The next birthday surprise was that they were here until Wednesday, they were staying at the apartment with us, and Maury didn't have work on Monday! I knew this was going to be such a great birthday! :) We spent each day shopping, eating, decorating, eating some more and shopping some more!

My mom and Grandma helped me decorate my apartment and I absolutely love how it turned out. I can't wait until Maury and I have a house so they can help make it beautiful!

I am so grateful my mom had the idea to come surprise me on my birthday! I love that we are so close and hate spending time apart. She is my best friend and we have SO much fun every time we are together.  I think we are both very excited for once Maury and I live in Fresno again!

Until next time,

Brie :)
